This site describes most of the hardware, services and software relating to information management, storage and retrieval in the UK and provides details of suppliers.  The content is compiled by independent consultants, there are no restrictions on its use but copyright restrictions apply to reproduction for commercial purposes.

How to search this site

Hardware  is grouped under three prime headings:-

Digital currently relates to document scanners, displays and monitors.

Hybrid leads to film scanners, scanner-cameras and digital-to-film (COM) recorders.

Micrographic includes cameras, film processors, film duplicators, readers, reader-printers, densitometers, inspection stations, jacket fillers, cartridge loaders and other finishing and quality control hardware.

Services are listed under 26 main headings, some of which are sub-divided. Where there are many relevant suppliers - such as for office document scanning - they are listed both alphabetically and geographically to assist rapid searching.  The most recent addition is a listing of associations, publishers and exhibition organisers.

Software is indexed by software name and function. Full details on how best to search for software are provided in the introductory page which can be reached by clicking the Software tab at the head of every page on this site.

Addresses for UK suppliers and those overseas suppliers that are mentioned in the editorial content are provided in the Address section which also has a tab on every page. Some sponsors of this site provide direct links from the cell at the right of their data sheets to their address details or websites. There may also be a link to a page providing additional information about the supplier which can be highly informative and well worth a visit.

All basic entries are free, but suppliers who sponsor the project enjoy priority listing and the ability to add to their basic entries.
