High Capacity Storage Devices
Document imaging generates large quantities of data which must initially be
retained in fast access devices, but which may be
transferred to "near-line" or off-line storage when it is no longer active.
The manufacturer's name, if different, is shown in italics.
In addition to the equipment listed below, it is possible to convert data
to analogue format on film using COM recorders or CAD plotters, either
in-house or as a bureau service. COM devices are listed under
Hybrid
System Components; bureaux offering COM facilities will be found under
Bureau Services.
